SPIRITUALITY AND PHYSICAL RELEVANCE

Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles.

Young men I whom there is no blemish, but good looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had the ability to serve in the king’s palace and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans. Dan 1: 3–4 (NKJV)

We could call Daniel the genius of his time, devoted to God, keeping the law, defending his belief, carrying out his civilian duties, reading, studying the scriptures, and praying, he was faithful to the core with no fault found in him. In our time we say he is spiritual, he never for once denied his God even when faced with death he stood his ground and held to his belief yet he was still physically and intellectually relevant in the kingdom.

Then the king interviewed them, and among them all none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore, they served before the king

And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm. Dan 1: 19-20 (NKJV)

Intellectually, he applied his knowledge, skills, and wisdom when needed that the Queen herself recommended Daniel to the king

This means she must have been hearing about Daniels works, skills, achievements, wisdom and devotion to his God that she knew the only person who could qualify was Daniel

There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the spirit of the Holy God. And in the days of your father, light, and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him, and King Nebuchadnezzar your father – your Father the king- made him chief of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers.

“Inasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge, understanding, interpreting dreams, solving riddles and explaining enigmas were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar, now let Daniel be called, and he will give the interpretation.” Dan 5: 11 -12 (NKJV)

This leads to a question we should all reflect on;

How am I contributing to my society as a Christian, how am I adding my wisdom, skills, and gained knowledge to develop my community, society, or country?

Am I adding to knowledge, am I helping the poor, resolving conflict, filling the research gap, inventing things, discovering medicine for deadly diseases through my gained knowledge and inspiration from God? Or am I just collecting and receiving from others never giving back and making an input in the world?

Are people feeling my reason for existence with all my spirituality? Remember the story of the talents, the servants each had talents, and their master said to them, see that you use and multiple it, reach out and bless others with it.

Another example is Tabitha (Dorcas), full of good works and charitable deeds, that when she died, all the widows wept, they showed Peter all the clothes she made for them and for this singular act; Peter restored her to life. The question again is what are you doing as a Christian to help others around you?

See that, as you are relevant spiritually in your church, you are also relevant in your society; you are making an impact; you are advancing the course of something positive, and you are developing your community. By this, you balancing one another (spirituality and physical relevance)

When people see your spiritual and physical relevance, they know of a truth your God owns all power, wisdom, and intellect by this you directly or indirectly bring people to Christ.
